2021 Senior Information

                                Graduation/Commencement Update!

NO ATTENDANCE LIMITATIONS FOR COMMENCEMENT 

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) recently revised its orders, easing all restrictions on outdoor mask wearing and social distancing starting June 1st.  As a result, there will be NO attendance limitations for the amount of guests at the graduation ceremonies.  

The Class of 2021 Harper Creek High School Graduation will still occur on Friday, June 4th.  The graduation ceremony will still be conducted in 2 formats, as we would like to respect the comfort level with large group gatherings for some of our class members and their families.

 

  • Small Groups/Cohort - 15 students in each 15 minute time slot: 4:00 - 5:45 PM
  • Traditional/Whole Class - Graduating Class Members: 7:30 PM

 

As customary, the graduation stage will be set-up in the HC Stadium for both formats.

  • If you plan to attend just the traditional ceremony, please sign up for the 7:30 PM ceremony.  

 

  • If you plan to attend just a small group/cohort ceremony, please sign up for a time slot between 4:00 - 5:30 PM Please cancel your booking for the small group/cohort if you no longer plan to do that. 

 

  • If you have signed up for both and want to attend both, you may do so, however we strongly encourage you to do just the traditional ceremony if you plan to attend the traditional ceremony at all.

REHEARSAL CEREMONY 

ALL Graduating Seniors will have a graduation rehearsal on Wednesday, June 2nd, at 1:00 p.m. at the Stadium. 

Lunch will be provided (at 12:30 PM) and graduates may pick up their caps and gowns at that time.

Computers and chargers must be turned in prior to receiving cap/gown. Fines and fees must be paid before graduates will receive their diplomas.  


Contingency Plan

The contingency plan (due to poor weather conditions) is still to move the ceremony to the HS Auditorium.  If this occurs, a decision will be made on Thursday, June 3rd and communicated on all social media outlets.  The ceremony will still occur on Friday, June 4th, but must be conducted in the small group/cohort format to comply with current health department guidelines.

Students who selected the 4:00 - 5:45  PM slots will keep their scheduled times.

Students who selected the 7:30 PM time will be scheduled by the school in groups of 15 students, alphabetically, between 5:45 PM - 8:00 PM.

Students will be given their Contingency time slots at the rehearsal ceremony on Wednesday, June 2nd.
Students may be accompanied by 12 guests.

Students and families must enter and exit from Varsity Hall and wait in the cafeteria for their ceremony.

Handicap individuals may park and enter at the auditorium entrance. 


Additional details, if needed, will be shared in the event of inclement weather and a move inside.
