Biography:

I am originally from the Detroit Area but now call Battle Creek home. I taught for 4 years in Cassopolis, Michigan. I taught everything from Physical Science and Physics to Forensic Science and Advanced Placement Biology. I have been at Harper Creek since 2010 and plan to stay for good. Also, I am the assistant swim coach for the Girls and Middle School swim teams. Go Harper!
I graduated from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan in 2004 with a Bachelor's in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I went back to MSU for my Masters in Education and graduated in 2009.

Between teaching and coaching, I do rarely get moments of spare time. I enjoy reading. I love a mixture of fiction books but also non-fiction books. My favorite authors are A.J. Jacobs and Mary Roach. I am also a huge fan of The Big Bang Theory and often have "Sheldon moments" in the classroom (you have been warned!). I also listen to the podcast “Stuff You Should Know." Josh and Chuck do a great job explaining all sorts of topics (that I probably should already know). I am a big fan of MSU athletics especially the football and basketball teams. I have season tickets to the football games and I am a former member of the Izzone section (Go Green!). I also run and swim. I've already completed 5 half marathons and am continually looking for new races. I also participate in US Master's Swim Meets and the Goguac Lake Swim.
