SCHOLARSHIPS!!!
First, always remember to apply for FAFSA: https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa. This is required for many scholarships and used by schools to evaluate a student’s financial need-- which could lead to awards/grant opportunities (aka money you don’t have to pay back). It’s also the pathway to federal student loans, but that is one of the last methods you want to rely on to pay for school (you pay it back and much more in interest). If you need help working through the FAFSA application please visit: https://studentaid.gov/apply-for-aid/fafsa/filling-out
Scholarship deadlines will vary, please be responsible with confirming this information early in the school year. Individual scholarships will indicate their deadline. If you are uncertain after researching, please see your School Counselor.
Also, don’t forget to look for specific scholarships available from the school(s) and/or branch of the Armed Services you are applying to! Links to those are generally available on the college/university/branch website. And in addition to those, look at...
